Why we're building RideBeacon.
Vanessa never imagined starting a bicycle safety company.
Her children started riding e-bikes. Saying "no" wasn't a realistic answer anymore.
E-bikes were showing up in every driveway. Faster. Heavier. More capable than anything she grew up with. Schools were struggling to keep pace. Parents were trading worried texts.
She looked for something that could help. She found trackers. She found apps. She found alarms. She couldn't find anything that actually helped her raise a safer rider.
The question wasn't whether children would ride.
The question became — how do we help them ride safely?
"Technology alone doesn't create safer riders. Education, accountability, and encouragement do."
When Vanessa shared the idea with Nick, the conversation became something larger.
Instead of asking, "Can we build another GPS?"
the conversation became — "What if we completely rethought how families, schools, and communities work together to help children become safer riders?"
One conversation became a mission.
Registration became education.
Education became recognition.
GPS became coaching.
Bike Health became part of the journey.
Schools became partners.
Communities became part of the solution.
RideBeacon transformed from a product into a mission.
We don't believe children should lose the freedom that riding a bicycle has always represented.
